Direct-Vent Gas Fireplaces

These are sealed combustion units (they do not use air from your home to operate) therefore; the fire is always behind a piece of safety glass. The fireplace is vented through the exterior wall of your home and cased in a marble surround with a wood mantel. Vented gas logs are the most cost-effective way to enjoy the convenience of gas in your existing masonry fireplace. Direct-Vent Inserts

Inserts convert your existing wood burning fireplaces to gas. Inserts are also a sealed combustion product; the combustion chamber is placed behind a piece of safety glass. Inserts also vent through a piping system that must be installed inside of your existing chimney. As a result, the investment in an insert is nearly twice that of a vented gas log. The benefit, however, is a very efficient product that can be used as a secondary heat source for your entire house.
